DesignScene acquires Secret Theatre, unveiling a new era of immersive experiences

London, UK, December 4, 2023 – DesignScene, the global brand experience agency renowned for creating unforgettable live events, has acquired Secret Theatre, the celebrated immersive theatre company led by Artistic Director Richard Crawford. This strategic move marks a pivotal transformation in the live events industry, poised to redefine immersive experiences.

With a 18-year history of delivering exceptional brand experiences for clients like Amazon, Yahoo, and Live Nation, DesignScene has emerged as a leader in live events. The acquisition of Secret Theatre propels the agency into a new era of creativity and engagement.

As DesignScene approaches its 20th anniversary, the agency embarks on a journey of exploration and expansion, venturing into new territories,  including the Middle East, and broadening its skill set and client base. The acquisition of Secret Theatre reinforces this commitment to pushing creative boundaries and forging innovative connections in arts, culture, sports, and music.

Attila Keskin, Founder and CEO of DesignScene, commented, “Our acquisition of  Secret Theatre is a pivotal moment for DesignScene. After successful collaborations at Lollapalooza and SXSW we are thrilled to infuse our events with the magic and innovation that Secret Theatre consistently delivers. Together, we will redefine what’s possible in live experiences.”

Richard Crawford, the visionary behind Secret Theatre, expresses his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership is a perfect match. Our shared passion for pushing creative boundaries and crafting immersive worlds that captivate and transport audiences, regardless of location, will undoubtedly make this collaboration robust, imaginative, and unforgettable.”

DesignScene and Secret Theatre are poised to make their first commercial ticketed show together with the recreation of  Studio 54 in March 2024 at an exclusive Singapore venue, offering the audience a taste of the legendary club. While the details of the 2024 show remain under wraps, audiences can expect a unique, mind-bending, and unforgettable experience, fusing DesignScene’s expertise in creating remarkable brand experiences with Secret Theatre’s immersive magic.

DesignScene and Secret Theatre will also continue to offer exclusive private shows, establishing partnerships with prestigious hotel venues and private members’ clubs to enhance their appeal. Previous partnerships have included The Peninsula Hong Kong, The MO Ritz Madrid, The Town Hall Hotel London and The Carlyle Club Singapore. Notable past private shows have featured clients such as American Express, Chanel, and Adidas.

Richard Crawford, the Founder and Artistic Director of Secret Theatre, is a renowned theatre actor and director known for creating over 18 touring productions that have sold out in seven major cities, from London, to New-York and Hong-Kong.

To offer a broader range of industry sectors and services, DesignScene has welcomed earlier this year, two key additions to the team, Cristina Angeli, the Global Managing Director based in Los Angeles, and Sophie Billi-Hardwick, the Global Chief Marketing Director based in London.
